United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540 - Passed on April 28, 2004, Resolution 1540 requires all States to take measures to prevent non-State actors from acquiring or developing nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and to prevent the proliferation of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons in general.

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation 2003 Leaders' Declaration - In Bangkok, Thailand on October 21, 2003, APEC delegates, recognizing the threat that the proliferation of WMD and transnational terrorism pose to the development of prosperous economies, pledged to take specific actions that will booster security in the Asia-Pacific region.

G-8 2003 Evian Summit documents - The summit in Evian focused on strengthening economic growth worldwide, enhancing sustainable development, improving security, and regional issues. The leaders gave the first annual report on the Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destructions, offered a nonproliferation action plan, and made several declarations.

G-8 2002 Kananaskis Summit documents - The Kananaskis Summit in 2002 witnessed a solid commitment from each member of the G8 to Africa and agreed on priority areas for development assistance. Leaders also announced important work on the fight against terrorism, notably the creation of the Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction and the adoption of transport security measures. Leaders also examined a number of regional issues (the situation in the Middle East, Afghanistan, and India/Pakistan relations).
