Hills  - State Dept ImageCarla Hills is chairman and chief executive officer of Hills & Company International Consultants which provides advice to international firms on investment, trade, and risk assessment issues abroad, particularly in emerging market economies. Ambassador Hills served in the cabinets of President George H.W. Bush as United States Trade Representative and of President Gerald R. Ford as Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She also served as an assistant attorney general in the Civil Division of the Department of Justice in the Ford administration. Ambassador Hills currently serves on the international advisory board of J.P. Morgan Chase and is a member of the board of Gilead Sciences. She also serves on a number of not-for-profit boards including as co-chair of the Council on Foreign Relations, of the Inter-American Dialogue, and of the International Advisory Board of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and as Chair of the National Committee on US-China Relations, and as member of the Executive Committee of the Peterson Institute for International Economics and of the Trilateral Commission. She graduated from Stanford University and obtained her law degree from the Yale Law School.
