The Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations Announces the Construction Award for the New U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad, India

Caddell Construction Co. of Montgomery, Alabama, was awarded the design-build construction contract for the new U.S. Consulate General project in Hyderabad, India.

The multi-building complex will be situated on a 12-acre site in the new high-tech area of Hyderabad, and will include a Consulate building, Marine Security Guard Residence, support buildings, and facilities for the Consulate community. It will provide Consulate employees with a safe, secure, sustainable, and modern workplace. Construction will commence in 2017 and project completion is anticipated in 2020.

The design architect is richärd+bauer architecture of Phoenix, Arizona. The architect of record is Integrus Architecture of Spokane, Washington.

As part of the Department’s Capital Security Construction Program, OBO has completed 133 new diplomatic facilities since 1999, and currently has 52 projects in design or under construction.
