Secretary Kerry's Meeting With Foreign Minister Kishida

Secretary Kerry met with Japanese Foreign Minister Kishida on November 17 on the margins of the APEC Ministerial Meeting in Lima, Peru. During the meeting, Secretary Kerry highlighted the continued strength of our partnership and alliance with Japan, the cornerstone of U.S. engagement with the Asia-Pacific region, and discussed a full range of bilateral, regional, and global issues, including DPRK, climate change and the importance of implementing the Paris Agreement, and trade.

Secretary Kerry also conveyed his deep appreciation for the strong friendship and cooperation he has received from Japan's leadership throughout his tenure as Secretary of State.
