Special Envoy Randy Berry Travels to Uruguay, Colombia, and Bolivia

Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons Randy Berry will travel to Montevideo, Uruguay on July 11 as part of the U.S. delegation to attend the Global LGBTI Human Rights Conference hosted by Uruguay and the Netherlands.

From July 15–18, Special Envoy Berry will visit Bogota, Colombia, and La Paz, Bolivia, to assess ways in which the U.S. government may assist in efforts to reduce violence targeting LGBTI persons, and in particular, violence targeting transgender persons. He will meet with senior leaders from both government and civil society.
