Assistant Secretary Frank A. Rose To Travel to Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, France, the Netherlands, and Germany

Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance Frank A. Rose will visit Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, France, the Netherlands, and Germany, May 11–21, for events and bilateral meetings on missile defense, space security, strategic stability, and arms control.

On May 12, Assistant Secretary Rose will join the U.S. delegation attending the joint U.S.-Romania ribbon-cutting ceremony in Deveselu, Romania, marking the operational certification of the Aegis Ashore missile defense system.

On May 13, Assistant Secretary Rose will join the U.S. delegation attending the joint U.S.-Poland ground-breaking ceremony in Redzikowo, Poland, marking the start of construction of the Aegis Ashore missile defense system in Poland.

Assistant Secretary Rose will be in Sofia, Bulgaria, May 16–17, for meetings with senior officials from the Bulgarian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense as well as other government leaders.

Assistant Secretary Rose will travel to Paris, The Hague, and Berlin, May 18–20, for bilateral discussions on arms control, nuclear security, and missile defense related issues. He will meet with senior officials from each country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense, along with other government officials and parliamentarians.
