Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) William R. Brownfield will travel to Peru and Argentina to advance U.S. cooperation with those partner nations in the fight against transnational crime.

The Assistant Secretary travels to Lima, Peru on April 25 where he will meet with Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano regarding U.S. support for law enforcement and counternarcotics efforts in Peru and the region. He will then deliver remarks on international efforts to counter drug trafficking and money laundering at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency’s International Drug Enforcement Conference.

Assistant Secretary Brownfield then travels to Argentina where, following President Obama’s visit in March, the United States looks to re-engage on pressing crime and drug-related issues. INL seeks to support Argentine law enforcement expertise through the facilitation of training opportunities, study tours, information sharing, and participation in a variety of international engagements.
