Under Secretary Stengel To Honor Global Emerging Young Leaders
U.S. Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Richard Stengel will present the inaugural Emerging Young Leaders Award during a ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, in the Ben Franklin Room at the U.S. Department of State. Under Secretary Stengel will be joined in recognizing ten remarkable young people from around the world by Assistant Secretary for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan.
For the first time, the Department of State’s Emerging Young Leaders Award recognizes international youth for their efforts to create constructive social change.
The ceremony will be live-streamed on eca.state.gov starting at 10:00 a.m.
Pre-set time for cameras is 8:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance. Final access time for writers and stills is 9:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.
Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport).
