The following is attributable to Deputy Spokesperson Mark Toner:

While in Miami, Secretary of State Kerry spoke with leaders of the Cuban-American community about our diplomatic re-engagement with Cuba and the changes taking place in Cuba in terms of access to information and economic opportunity.

He also recognized that despite progress for many Cubans, change would not happen overnight and that significant challenges - especially regarding human rights - remain.

The Secretary sought and listened to the insights, recommendations, and concerns of those in the room on how to address the challenges that remain and improve economic opportunity for the people of Cuba.
