Assistant Secretary of State Evan Ryan Briefing: Open Doors Report on International Education

Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan will kick-off International Education Week (IEW) with a press briefing for the release of the 2015 Open Doors Report at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November, 16, 2015. The report includes the latest statistics and trends on international and U.S. student mobility, which informs the international education and exchange strategies for governments, education institutions, scholarship agencies, and other stakeholders worldwide. President and CEO of the Institute of International Education Allan Goodman will introduce Assistant Secretary Ryan.

The theme for this year’s IEW is “Access for All”. The briefing will focus on the importance of international education in today’s global economy and why all students should have access to these experiences. State-by-state data will include the top cities and institutions for international students and U.S. study abroad programs, including top countries of origin for international students and popular destinations for American students.

The remarks will be open to the press. Press should be sure to register in advance online here and indicate a request for interview or advance access to the data.
