Director General Travels to Miami for Student Outreach and Recruiting

The Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Human Resources at the Department of State, Arnold A. Chacon, will travel to Miami, Florida, October 7–9, to talk to students at Florida International University (FIU), Miami Dade College and the International Studies Charter High School about career opportunities at the Department of State.

Director General Chacon will be the Ruth K. and Shepard Broad Distinguished Lecturer at FIU’s Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs on Friday, October 9 at 2 p.m. In a discussion entitled, A Career Like No Other: Shaping the Future of U.S. Diplomacy and Global Leadership, he will highlight the different career and professional opportunities the Department of State offers, including Foreign Service, Civil Service and internship opportunities, and the Department’s commitment to building a diverse, talented workforce that is equipped to take on the challenges of the future.

FIU and Miami Dade College are among the largest Hispanic serving institutions in higher education and the International Studies Charter High School is ranked among the top high schools in Florida and the nation.
