Assistant Secretary Charles Rivkin Travels to France, Nigeria and Senegal

Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Charles H. Rivkin will travel September 1-11 to France, Nigeria and Senegal.

In Paris September 1-4, Assistant Secretary Rivkin will meet with government and business officials to discuss economic issues.

In Abuja, Nigeria, September 7-8, Assistant Secretary Rivkin will deliver the keynote address at the Nigeria – American Chamber of Commerce’s Small and Medium Enterprises Financing Conference, participate in an intellectual property rights roundtable, and meet with government and business officials to discuss how Nigeria can be a key source of regional growth. In Lagos, Nigeria September 8-9, the Assistant Secretary will meet with heads of rising Nigerian conglomerates and technology officials and lead a discussion of Nigeria’s Nollywood film industry with high level industry executives and visit several business incubators.

While in Dakar, Senegal, September 10-11, Assistant Secretary Rivkin will meet with government and business officials to discuss Senegal’s position as an emerging economic partner with the United States. He will also meet with representatives from the Mandela Washington Fellowship Program for Young African Leaders and the Global Entrepreneurship Summit to talk about African business development, and will also deliver trade and investment remarks to business leaders.
