Assistant Secretary Thomas Countryman Travels to Mexico, Kazakhstan and Slovenia
From August 24-25, Assistant Secretary Thomas Countryman is leading a U.S. delegation to Cancun, Mexico, to attend the First Conference of States Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty.
Assistant Secretary Countryman will travel to Astana, Kazakhstan, to attend the IAEA Fuel Bank inauguration ceremony August 27-28. While there, he will meet with Foreign Minister Idrissov and Minister of Energy Skholnik to discuss nonproliferation issues, visit the International Science and Technology Center, and engage with the media.
From August 31-September 1, Assistant Secretary Countryman will travel to Bled, Slovenia, to deliver nonproliferation remarks at the Bled Strategic Forum.
