Assistant Secretary Countryman Travels to Lithuania and Finland
On June 15, Assistant Secretary Thomas Countryman will be in Vilnius, Lithuania, to discuss cooperation under the U.S.-Lithuania Joint Action Plan to counter illicit trafficking in nuclear and radioactive materials. He will also visit the Nuclear Security Center of Excellence in Medininkai and will engage the media.
June 16-17, Assistant Secretary Countryman will travel to Helsinki, Finland, to lead the U.S. delegation to the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism Plenary Meeting. While in Helsinki, Assistant Secretary Countryman will meet with Finnish Foreign Minister Timo Soini and will also brief the press.
