Ambassador Jenkins Travels to Italy and Spain for Nuclear Security Summit and G7 Global Partnership Meetings

Coordinator for Threat Reduction Programs Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins will be in Bologna, Italy on May 7 to speak at the “High-Level Event Nuclear Security Summit 2016 and beyond: the Role of Training and Support Centres and Centres of Excellence.” The goal of the event is to evaluate how the nuclear security training and support centers and Centers of Excellence (NSSC/CoE) can contribute to sustaining nuclear security worldwide through the attainment of the Nuclear Security Summit goals after 2016 and how the NSSC/CoE can be sustained without the momentum of the NSS process.

On May 12, Ambassador Jenkins will be in Madrid, Spain to meet with officials to discuss issues regarding the G7 Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction, the Global Health Security Agenda, and UNSCR 1540.
