The Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) has selected Zimmer Gunsul Frasca as the architect for the new U.S. Embassy in Asuncion, Paraguay.

The multi-building complex will include a chancery, other buildings, and site improvements to be constructed on the existing 15-acre Embassy site. A construction award for the project is anticipated in fiscal year 2015.

OBO’s mission is to provide safe, secure, and functional facilities that represent the U.S. Government to the host nation and support our staff in the achievement of U.S. foreign policy objectives. These facilities should represent U.S. values and the best in U.S. architecture, engineering, technology, sustainability, art, culture, and construction execution.
