Acting Assistant Secretary Zeya To Deliver Remarks at LGBT Conference

On Thursday, October 24 DRL Acting Assistant Secretary Uzra Zeya will deliver remarks at the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans & Intersex Association (ILGA) Europe’s Annual Conference. ILGA-Europe is an umbrella organization of 408 LGBT organizations from 45 countries in Europe. The theme of this year’s conference is: “Family Matters! Reaching out to hearts and minds.”

Acting Assistant Secretary Zeya will participate in a panel discussion on LGBT issues in Europe. She will be joined on the panel by Stavros Lambrinidis, the EU Special Representative for Human Rights and Aurel Ciobanu-Dordea, Director of Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, European Commission.

While in Croatia, Acting Assistant Secretary Zeya will also participate in private meetings with LGBT activists and a number of Croatian government officials, including Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic.
