State On Demand Wins PR News Award
The U.S. Department of State’s State On Demand website has won the gold for the Best Online Newsroom of the Year in the 2012 Bulldog Digital/Social PR Award for Outstanding Achievement by Agencies and Individuals in PR and Corporate Communications.
One year ago, the State Department, working with Synaptic Digital, launched State On Demand, a web page that hosts State Department video clips and packages generated by the Bureau of Public Affairs in Washington, DC, the U.S.-European Media Hub in Brussels, and the East Asia and Pacific Media Hub in Tokyo. State On Demand enables broadcasters and online journalists abroad to download video content in broadcast and web quality and repurpose it for news packages, blogs, or social media. This innovative new site makes State Department material easily accessible by providing a full library of content in one central place.
Cisco’s the Network and the USS Iowa Online Newsroom, respectively, took the silver and bronze awards for Online Newsroom of the Year. The awards for the 2012 Bulldog Digital/Social PR Award for Outstanding Achievement by Agencies and Individuals in PR and Corporate Communications were announced on January 14 by Bulldog Reporter. Winners were chosen exclusively by working journalists from hundreds of entries representing the best in PR/corporate communications.
