Special Envoy to Combat and Monitor Anti-Semitism Hannah Rosenthal in Rome, Italy and Vatican City
Special Envoy Hannah Rosenthal will visit Rome, Italy, and Vatican City May 17-19, to attend the Holy See’s Fifth Annual Pope John Paul II Lecture on Interreligious Understanding: 50 Years of Christian-Jewish Dialogue, by His Eminence, Cardinal Kurt Koch. She will meet with Cardinal Koch, President of the Holy See’s Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews. Special Envoy Rosenthal will also meet the Director of the Bea Centre for Judaic Studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University as well as leaders of non-government organizations involved in interreligious dialogue.
In Rome, she will have bilateral meetings with officials from the Government of Italy, including parliamentarians and representatives from the Ministries of Education, Foreign Affairs, and the Interior, as well as leaders from the Rome Jewish Community and the Federation of Italian Jews. She will discuss issues related to combating anti-Semitism, promoting tolerance, and the 2012 Hours Against Hate campaign.
Special Envoy Rosenthal will also meet with the Executive Director of the World Organization of Libyan Jews.
