US- Indonesia Live Webcast on Women in Science

The U.S. Department of State, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta’s @america center will co- host an interactive “Women in Science” webchat on March 8 at 8 a.m. EST/8 p.m. Jakarta time. The discussion will highlight the achievements of women scientists, the role of science policy, and burgeoning U.S.-Indonesia science and technology cooperation under the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership.

The webchat will feature a live question and answer session with four U.S. and Indonesian women dignitaries and scientists moderated by Dr. Joan M. Herbers, President of the Association for Women in Science. The Washington participants will be Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson and Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans, Environment and Science Dr. Kerri-Ann Jones while Dr. Herawati Sudoyo, Deputy Director of the Eijkman Institute and Dr. Eng. Eniya L. Dewi from the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology will join the discussion in Jakarta.
