The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) today launched the “Postcards from Home” Photo Contest on its ExchangesConnect online community.

ExchangesConnect hosts people-to-people dialogue among over 26,000 members about U.S. Department of State exchange programs and supports ECA’s mission to promote international mutual understanding through a wide range of academic, cultural, professional, and sports exchange programs. The contest is a call for people around the world to submit an original photo that shows a unique aspect of their homes to ExchangesConnect.

In addition to receiving global recognition of their photos on ECA websites, two winners will receive the Grand Prize: a netbook computer and display of their photographs at the Department of State in Washington, D.C.

The contest runs November 9, 2010 through December 17, 2010. Winners will be announced on January 5, 2010. Contestants must be registered members of ExchangesConnect and 14 years or older at the time of entry.
