Jordan and MCC to Sign $275 Million Poverty Reduction Grant

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will preside over the U.S. Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) signing of a $275 million poverty reduction grant with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Monday, October 25th at 10:00 am in the State Department’s Dean Acheson Auditorium. The compact will increase the supply of available water by improving the efficiency of water delivery, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment. Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh will join Secretary Clinton to witness the signing of the compact by MCC CEO Daniel Yohannes and Jordanian Minister of Water and Irrigation Mohammad Najjar. The event is open for press coverage.
