Assistant Secretary for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Jose Fernandez will travel to Chicago, Illinois, and Des Moines, Iowa, from October 12 to October 14, 2010. In Chicago, Assistant Secretary Fernandez will participate in a roundtable at the Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization, address the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago, and meet with students at the Kellogg School of Business. He will speak on the topics of global investment, support for the American economy, and biotechnology as a tool for both hunger alleviation in the developing world and job creation at home.In Des Moines, Assistant Secretary Fernandez will attend the awards ceremony for the World Food Prize and participate as a panelist in the Norman E. Borlaug International Symposium, also known as the Borlaug Dialogue, where he will focus on food security
