Question: Can you provide a readout of the U.S.-Japan Host Nation Support meeting?
Answer: U.S. and Japanese negotiating teams met this week for the second time to discuss host nation support arrangements between the two governments. Discussions are proceeding in a positive and constructive manner. We do not have further details of the discussions to share with you at this time.
Host Nation Support (HNS) funding is one of Japan’s key contributions to the U.S.-Japan Alliance which has maintained stability and security in East Asia for decades.
