Travel of Deputy Secretary of State James B. Steinberg to Central Europe

Deputy Secretary of State James B. Steinberg will visit both Slovakia and Hungary on October 6 to meet with senior government leaders and reaffirm the strong bilateral relationship the United States shares with both countries. He will also discuss goals related to Slovakia’s Visegrad Four presidency and Hungary’s upcoming 2011 EU presidency. He will then travel to Wroclaw, Poland, on October 7 to give a keynote speech at the Wroclaw Global Forum, a high-level regional conference on transatlantic relations. In this public forum and at meetings with Polish government leaders, the Deputy Secretary will highlight the importance of the relationship between the United States and Poland.
