Assistant Secretary Jose Fernandez to Travel to Malaysia and Indonesia

Assistant Secretary for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Jose Fernandez will travel to Malaysia and Indonesia from October 3 to October 8. He will engage with governments, the private sector and Department of State Missions in the region to build support for opening markets to U.S. products as part of President Obama’s National Export Initiative.
In Malaysia he will meet with the trade ministers on export and energy issues and will speak to students at UniRazak College about the Global Entrepreneurship Program.In Indonesia he will meet with Indonesian government representatives on trade, investment, and energy issues. He will open the Joint Agriculture and Investment Forum, where he will focus on innovation in agriculture through biotechnology. He will also participate in a roundtable with law students.
