Digital Satellite Press Briefing by U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Christopher R. Hill

U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Christopher R. Hill will conduct a satellite press briefing for reporters on the results of the Iraq National Elections, held on March 7. The briefing will be held today, March 30, at 11 a.m. Ambassador Hill will brief from Baghdad; reporters will be in the State Department press briefing room, 2209. Following opening remarks, Ambassador Hill will respond to reporters’ questions. This briefing is on the record and on camera.


Ambassador Hill’s digital satellite feed from Baghdad is available to broadcasters able to downlink digital Ku-band transmissions or who have access to the Vyvx fiber network and are able to book a circuit from Crawford Communications, the DVIDs teleport services provider. This satellite feed will have the raw backhaul video and audio of Ambassador Hill from Iraq only, but not journalists’ questions from the State Department Briefing Room.

Media representatives may attend this press briefing upon presentation at the 23rd Street entrance to the State Department of one of the following forms of identification: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport).
