Special Press Briefing: Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard C. Holbrooke to speak about his recent trip to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central Asia, Georgia and Germany
Ambassador Holbrooke recently returned from his seventh trip this year to Afghanistan and Pakistan, which also that included stops in Central Asia – the first visits in his capacity as SRAP - as well as Georgia and Germany. The trip was focused on strengthening dialogue, developing further partnerships, consolidating support and deepening further regional linkage. We are connected by a common threat and common challenge and therefore a common purpose. Peace and security in the region depends on regional cooperation and rebuilding Afghanistan as a secure and stable state.
