U.S.-China Counterterrorism Sub-Dialogue
Both sides had broad interagency representation to address terrorism with a whole-of-government approach. The U.S. side included representatives from the State Department, Treasury Department, Department of Justice, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy, the FBI and National Counter-Terrorism Center. The Chinese delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of State Security, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of National Defense, People’s Bank of China, General Administration of Quality, Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Supervision, General Administration of Customs and Inspections, and General Administration of Civil Aviation of China.
Over the course of the Sub-Dialogue, the two sides noted their opposition to terrorism in all forms and agreed on the importance of promoting peace and stability in a number of regions around the world while improving practices in homeland security. Both sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation in counterterrorism and to meet next year.
