Millennium Challenge Corporation to Sign $540 Million Poverty Reduction Grant Agreement with the Republic of Senegal

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will preside over the U.S. Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) signing of a $540 million poverty reduction grant agreement, with the Republic of Senegal on Wednesday, September 16, at 11:45 a.m. in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the U.S. Department of State. The compact will focus on road rehabilitation and food security initiatives in some of the poorest regions of Senegal. President Abdoulaye Wade, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cheikh Tidiane Gadio, and Minister of Economy and Finance Abdoulaye Diop will represent the Republic of Senegal.
