Commission Staff: Bruce Gregory
This two-part report (television and radio) evaluated US Government broadcasting activities and suggested that it is necessary to reorganize priorities and consolidate assets. The Commission recommended less radio and more television and more market and audience research.
The Commission believes it is time to seek a new balance, away from where shortwave listenership is falling; concentrating resources on countries where shortwave is still utilized.
The US is number one in international radio with 2,078 of direct broadcasts per week.
