Combating climate change is a top priority for the Department of State. As a result, OFM aims to incorporate concepts into our work with the foreign mission community to broaden awareness of common environmental challenges existing here in the United States as well as abroad and to organize and lead practical actions focused on addressing such problems. In doing so, OFM encourages members of the foreign mission community to undertake similar projects with the foreign diplomatic and consular communities resident in their countries. Since 2015 OFM has been organizing events to foster green diplomacy within the diplomatic community.
