Delegations representing the Government of the United States and the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh met in Washington D.C., August 15, 2013, to negotiate an Open Skies Air Transport Agreement. The discussions proceeded in a friendly and constructive manner, reflective of the close relationship between the two countries. The delegation list is attached at Attachment A.

The delegations reached ad referendum agreement on, and initialed the text of, an Agreement ("the Agreement,") attached as Attachment B. The delegations intend to submit the Agreement to their respective authorities for approval with a strong recommendation that it be brought into force as soon as practicable.

The delegations expressed their expectation that, upon the initialing of the text of the Agreement, their aeronautical authorities will permit operations consistent with the terms of that agreement on the basis of comity and reciprocity, pending its entry into force.
