Award for Corporate Excellence 2016
The annual Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) highlights U.S. companies that uphold the highest standards of responsible business conduct in their global operations. Established in 1999, the ACE seeks to highlight ways in which U.S. firms represent American values through the way they do business, in line with international best practices such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
The 2016 ACE was awarded to six companies in the following four categories:
- Inclusive Hiring Practices: General Electric in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and McDonald’s Deutschland in Berlin, Germany
- Transparent Operations: Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde S.A.A in Lima, Peru
- Sustainable Oceans Management: Bureo, Inc. in Santiago, Chile and Interface, Inc. in Manila, Philippines
- Small or Medium Enterprise: Andela in Lagos, Nigeria
The 2016 Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) ceremony was held on January 5, 2017, 10:30-11:30 a.m. EST in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the Harry S. Truman building and livestreamed on 2009-2017.state.gov. The hashtag for ACE is #SecStateACE.
